Scientific name: Brosimum rubescens
Ribboned Satinwood (also known as MUIRAPIRANGA) is a precious wood from French Guiana, closely related to Snakewood.
Nicknamed Bloodwood by the English due to its deep and unique hue, it has always captivated cabinetmakers.
Its unique grain captures and reflects light brilliantly, giving it the distinct ribboned effect.
Rare are colored woods whose color remains so stable over time: Ribboned Satinwood, with a density of approximately 0.8, is thus recognized as an exceptional wood, both aesthetic and durable.
