Guyanese Wapa is one of the most durable woods in the Amazon rainforest.
Traditionally used for making "wooden tiles" in joists and piles, it is also highly valued for flooring due to its warm appearance.
Its reddish-brown wood, enlivened with darker veins, gives it a remarkable aesthetic.
With a density of approximately 800 kg/m³, it offers robustness and longevity. However, Wapa can exude resin even after machining: a waterproof finish is therefore recommended to avoid any sticky effect.
